About Yoga Yarnie

Hmm, I never know what to write in these little miniature biographies. My name is Amanda, and, as the blog name implies, I do yoga and play with yarn.

I've been practicing yoga since 2009, after my doctor informed me I was well on the way to stressing myself into an autoimmune disorder. Yoga ( and my wonderful instructor and friend Cheri) has seen me through stress, injury - including a ruptured cervical disc, and all of the ups and downs of life that have come my way.

I've been playing with yarn since I was in high school (many moons ago!). I started crocheting back then, learning from one of those "Teach Yourself Crochet" books from the craft section at Wal-Mart that has the ugly 1980s sweaters - and hairstyles - in it. I learned to knit more recently, in 2010, when I stumbled upon a Ravelry group for left-handed knitters.

In addition to yoga and yarn, I sew a bit, read a lot, play way too many Facebook games, and I am a Certified Scentsy Consultant. In my spare time, I'm also the proud mom of two boys, Booger and Turd.
